OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME
The programme is aimed at

• Educating the instrumentation engineers on fundamentals of measurement & control related to power plant.
• Offering valuable tips on operation & maintenance of power plant automation enabling the instrumentation crew to act with more confidence during normal operation & during plant trip conditions.
• Enabling the participants to understand basic concepts of design philosophy of automation.
• Offering a brief but satisfying exposure to DCS & its power of software.

• Basic features of a power plant
• Introduction to measurements like Pressure, Level, Flow, Temperature, etc,.
• Energy conservation using variable speed drives
• Instrumentation troubleshooting & maintenance
• Test & Calibrating equipments
• Maintenance Scheduling
• Introduction to concept of control
• In depth analysis of critical control loops like
  a) 3 Element drum level control, Furnace Draft control,
  b) Steam Temperature control, Combustion control,
  c) Condenser Hot well level control etc,.
• Introduction to logic circuitry
• Safety logics for boiler turbine & balance of plant
• Introduction to DCS & Software development
• Introduction to Fuzzy Logic and its application in power plants

In general all operators, instrumentation engineers & technicians are natural choice for this programme. However engineers in middle management sector belonging to instrumentation, production, Mechanical, Chemical & Electrical departments will be highly benefited to know the modern trends in automation.

The exact programme for the 3 days shall be scheduled according to the type of participants, on the first day of the course.

Lunch will be provided by us during the course period. Participant's accommodation shall be booked on request at Ashok Residency, Porur which is quite near to the place of programme. The room rent and other travel expenses shall be born by participants.

The charges for the Programme shall be Rs 6,000/- for each participant. The above fees shall be paid in advance before start of programme. A service tax of 10.2% will be applicable (Rs. 6,612/-).
